Alpha's own pitch: learn twice as much in two hours a day

Alpha's own FAQ promises that its AI-powered learning helps students learn twice as much in two hours of academics a day, with the rest of the day spent on hands-on life-skills workshops. The chain says a student must prove mastery at over 90 percent accuracy before moving on, and that an entire grade level of material in one subject takes only 20 to 30 hours to master on its platform.

That is the claim the Times data tests: the school's own pitch is 2x learning in two hours, while its own test scores show most students — and nearly two-thirds of the weakest math students — never got there.
