THE SHORT VERSION

The AI giants just handed their agent standards to neutral ground

The Agentic AI Foundation announced four new projects on October 22 at AGNTCon + MCPCon North America: Anthropic's Agent Skills, OpenAI's Open Responses, Hugging Face's OpenEnv, and Alibaba's OpenSandbox — growing the foundation from three projects to ten in its first year.

The four cover the whole agent stack: how agents gain skills, how apps talk to models across providers, how agents are trained and evaluated, and where they run safely — all under open, vendor-neutral governance. Anthropic says more than 70 agent platforms integrated Agent Skills since it published the standard in December 2025, with a claimed 1 million skills published and nearly 280 million installations.
