TV4 BOSS: 'THAT IS NOT TRUE' — THE BACKUP JUST FAILED
Swedish channel TV4 has refuted reports that an AI agent deleted an entire season of The Challenge Sverige weeks before it was scheduled to air. The claim originated with sources speaking to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, who said production company Mastiff gave an AI agent access to its servers and that it autonomously deleted the edited second season, forcing a re-edit that reportedly took a year the first time around and pushing the premiere from November 22 into next year.
TV4's program director Mia Lindqvist denied AI was responsible. She said an investigation by TV4 found the season had been deleted due to human error, with no AI involved, and that the primary problem was a backup that failed. Lindqvist noted that AI is now used by the majority of production companies, but said it was not to blame in this case. A spokesperson had earlier confirmed only that the files had disappeared following a technical breakdown.
