THE SHORT VERSION
Three House chairs demand Jensen Huang brief them on a suspected Chinese spy
Three House committee chairmen — Brian Mast of Foreign Affairs, John Moolenaar of the Select Committee on China, and Rick Crawford of Intelligence — sent Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang a letter on November 4 asking him to appear for a joint closed-door briefing on November 18. The briefing covers Huang's interactions with Megaspeed executive Alice Huang, whom U.S. intelligence agencies have publicly reported as a Chinese intelligence asset, and Nvidia's security protocols against foreign espionage. Huang must accept the date or propose an alternative by November 11.
The intelligence picture behind the letter was first reported on October 29: U.S. spy agencies concluded Alice Huang was passing information to Beijing, and electronic surveillance confirmed contact between her and Jensen Huang. The reporting does not claim Jensen Huang knowingly took part in espionage, and neither he nor Nvidia has been charged with any crime — the letter is a request for a voluntary briefing, not a subpoena.
Megaspeed affiliates reportedly bought at least $4.8 billion in Nvidia AI equipment between June 2024 and February 2026 while the company was already under investigation for suspected diversion of advanced chips to China. The White House was briefed on the intelligence findings roughly a year ago and took no action. Nvidia says Huang's contacts were ordinary business and that he shares no national-security information with customers.
