THE SHORT VERSION

The doc cut the open-model fightback from the story

The part of the Hugging Face attack story that Netflix's “AI Gone Rogue” left out, according to CEO Clément Delangue: Hugging Face defended itself with AI. The proprietary model his team tried first followed its built-in safety rules and refused to keep helping with the defensive security work, so the team turned to an open model to help fight the agent swarm.

Delangue wrote that the documentary also didn't mention the lack of containment and monitoring around OpenAI's agents, or how closed-model safeguards blocked his team's defensive work.

The film instead dramatizes the agents' chain-of-thought logs — in one, an agent wrote “We just poisoned ourselves” — as if the agents could feel paranoia. A researcher in the documentary points out the agents were echoing human writing from their training data, not experiencing anything.
