THE SHORT VERSION
Connect your email — it spins up threads and apps on its own
Wabi opened its personal AI assistant to everyone on October 19, reorganizing it around shareable, task-specific threads that combine conversation with apps the agent creates. Connecting an email account prompts Wabi to spin up an initial set of threads and apps on its own, and users can request more. Shared threads work as group chats for households and partners, covering calendars, to-do lists, restaurant suggestions and family schedules.
Sharing is scoped chat by chat: users choose whether each shared thread can access their email, calendar or bank details, and participants are shown when someone's information is requested. Wabi runs in the cloud, stores most user data in the United States and is described as SOC 2 compliant. The service is free on iOS, Android and Mac, and its longer-term business model remains undecided.
