AI cartoon by Zimbo: Six-panel strip: Shawn Wang leaves finance (2018), writes LEARN IN PUBLIC as developers gather, pins up an AI ENGINEER WANTED poster (2023), keynotes the AI Engineer Summit, runs the Latent Space podcast — lookout finale: coding agents at every desk. HE NAMED THE JOB. THEN HE AUTOMATED IT.
Shawn Wang — swyx — quit finance, wrote the "Learn in Public" playbook, then coined the AI Engineer job title. The title got a conference, a newsletter, a whole scene. Then he joined Cognition to build the thing that replaces it.Zimbo for AI News Page
