THE SHORT VERSION
THE BOUNCE IS REAL — NVIDIA UP 6%, CHIP STOCKS CLIMB BACK

AI and tech shares climbed again on Friday, clawing back part of Thursday's rout: the Nasdaq opened higher and kept gaining, reversing some of its 5.5% fall, while Nvidia led the recovery, trading up more than 6% after sliding over 9% the day before.
SpaceX shares rose more than 7% and Tesla nearly 3% after falling 8% and almost 11% on Thursday, but the rebound is only partial — the seven largest US tech companies lost about $1 trillion in a single day, and the Nasdaq shed an estimated $2.5 trillion.
The bounce came alongside a jobs report that beat every forecast — employers added 165,000 jobs in October, more than double what analysts expected — though the recovery is partial and the questions that drove the sell-off have not gone away.
