THE SHORT VERSION
Meta's Muse got a face — video-chat it in a pirate voice
Meta rolled out real-time voice and expressive avatars in the Muse app on November 5, starting in the US on mobile, the web and Mac. Tap the phone icon in the top-right corner and start talking — Muse answers right away, and you can interrupt mid-sentence.
As Muse speaks, its avatar reacts with expressions and gestures that match the tone of the conversation. You can keep it voice-only, park the avatar beside the chat, or go fullscreen face-to-face — and pick from hundreds of voices, from a New Yorker's energy to a pirate's flair.
The pitch is thinking out loud instead of composing the perfect prompt: rehearse a job interview, plan a trip from a half-formed idea, and let Muse keep working on the task while you talk. Voice is coming soon to Meta's AI Glasses and the Muse Charm wearable.
