THE SHORT VERSION

Meta reportedly built a humanoid robot with China's Fourier

The Information reported on October 31 that Meta has built a prototype humanoid robot with Chinese startup Fourier and is already working on a second version, citing people familiar with the initiative, according to Reuters.

Reuters said it could not immediately verify the report, and as of 1:30 p.m. ET on October 31 neither company had posted a statement about it in its online newsroom — so the prototype exists, for now, only as a sourced report, not a company announcement.

Fourier, founded in 2015, launched its GR-1 in 2023 — which it calls the industry's first mass-produced humanoid — and released its GR-3 series in 2025, while Meta formed a Reality Labs humanoid team in February 2025; a Meta-built humanoid would put the company behind camera glasses and AI chatbots into a body, built with a Chinese partner.
