Anthropic will owe SpaceX $3.1 billion a month for compute — $120.5 billion in all

Anthropic's S-1 commits up to $120.5 billion to SpaceX's AI unit for Nvidia-chip compute, reaching about $3.1 billion a month once all the capacity is delivered in December. The deal started at $1.25 billion a month in May and more than doubled — and either side can walk away on 90 days' notice after early 2027.

The same filing shows the other side of the ledger: a $1 billion operating profit in the second quarter, the first sign the business makes money on operations even while the headline loss runs to $80.7 billion on paper. Anthropic also owes Google at least $114.5 billion, Amazon $110 billion and Microsoft $44.9 billion — minimums that apply whether or not it uses the compute.
