THE SHORT VERSION

Your AI agent can now log in without ever seeing your password

1Password launched 1Password for Agents on October 22, a platform that lets personal AI agents sign in to a user's accounts without ever receiving or storing the password, secret, or credential.

When an agent reaches a sign-in form, it identifies itself to 1Password with a unique digital key; the person sees which credential is requested and why, approves on their own device, and 1Password fills the credential directly into the form.

The launch partners cover the personal-agent field: Meta's Muse, Anthropic's Claude Duet, OpenAI's ChatGPT Work and Dots, Grok Bot, and Town's Townie, the same agents now handling inboxes, bills, and expenses.

Satirical cartoon: a worried robot butler with an empty briefcase walks through the MY ACCOUNTS door that a mechanical arm from the locked 1PASSWORD safe just unlocked, while the pajama-clad owner taps APPROVE on his phone.
