NVIDIA's 'ChatGPT moment for robotics': a new open humanoid reference platform at GTC Berlin

At GTC Berlin on Wednesday, NVIDIA announced a major expansion of its Isaac open robotics platform: a new Isaac OS runtime (open source), Isaac Lab 3.0 generally available (open source), a SimReady Central Library of 2,000+ simulation-ready assets and a Human 1M motion dataset on Hugging Face, plus open reference workflows combining ChatGPT Astra with Isaac and Cosmos.

The hardware centerpiece is Agile ONE SN, a full-stack humanoid reference platform from Munich's Agile Robots: 1.40 meters tall, 40kg, 31 degrees of freedom, dual five-finger WUJI hands with tactile sensing, powered by the NVIDIA Jetson Thor edge AI platform (2,070 FP4 teraflops) and the Isaac GR00T foundation model. It is aimed at researchers, available early 2027, with Stanford and ETH Zurich already interested.

Jensen Huang's line: 'General-purpose robotics is advancing at extraordinary speed — the ChatGPT moment for robotics is fast approaching.'
