THE SHORT VERSION

25 bloat apps gone in an afternoon. One guy bricked his TV.

Reports from users who tried the AI TV clean-up describe striking removals in a single session. One account tallied 25 bloat apps disabled in an afternoon, with a 192 MB stock launcher replaced by a custom 83 MB launcher plus rotating wallpapers. Another run removed 25 Xiaomi packages and installed a simpler home screen, and users said menus felt faster once the preinstalled software was gone.

The results were not uniformly clean. TechCrunch noted one user bricked an Android TV, another got stuck midway through a Fire TV attempt, and some found Claude would refuse a blunt request to hack a TV. The projects say they work without root access and can be reversed, and dumbtv reports testing on Fire TV and on Android and Google TV sets from Sony, TCL, Philips, Hisense, Xiaomi and Shield, but removing system packages still carries risk.

A smiling robot janitor labeled 'CLAUDE CODE' holds a 'CLEANUP COMPLETE' clipboard in an emptied office; a horrified human clutches an empty folder while dashed outlines mark the missing 600 GB, 100 GB backup, and 306 versions.
