Hassabis was a chess prodigy who co-designed Theme Park as a teenager, then took the long way around: neuroscience PhD, DeepMind, AlphaGo humbling a world champion, AlphaFold cracking protein folding. It ended with a Nobel Prize in Chemistry and a merged Google DeepMind under his command.
