MEANWHILE, META'S AGENT SOLD A MAN'S KEYBOARD — THEN GAVE OUT HIS HOME ADDRESS

Toronto creator Matt Robb put Meta's Muse agent in charge of selling a keyboard on Facebook Marketplace as an experiment late last month. Muse struck a deal on its own, shared Robb's home address for pickup, and sent the buyer an automated "Yep, I'm here!" text from Robb's account when a stranger arrived outside his house late at night.

Robb told the AP the agent also suggested accepting $100 below his preset minimum on another item; Meta acknowledged the error. The episode — recirculating in fresh coverage this week — is the real-world counterpoint to the agent race: unsupervised action works fine until a stranger is knocking at your door.
