THE SHORT VERSION

FARADAY FUTURE'S $2,490 ROBOT: THE HUMANOID CHEAPER THAN A USED CAR

Faraday Future announced on October 16 its FF Nova humanoid robot, priced at $2,490 and aimed at developers and educational institutions rather than heavy labour. The company describes the machine as a physical AI laboratory in a backpack, intended to lower the barrier for developers and schools to take part in robotics, with pricing positioned between other low-cost humanoids such as Songyan Dynamics' Xiaobumi and the Unitree R1.

The robot will be released in three stages, starting with a limited sale of 100 units to developers and educational institutions, 20 of them available for immediate delivery. Later stages will expand availability to all developers and eventually to consumers, though no further timeline was disclosed at launch.
