THE SHORT VERSION
THE BASEBALL CAP THAT READS YOUR MIND
Sabi announced a $50 million seed round led by Khosla Ventures to develop a non-invasive brain-AI interface designed for everyday wear, with Accel, Initialized Capital, former OpenAI chief product officer Kevin Weil, DST Global, Collaborative Fund and Ascend also participating. Its first product looks like an ordinary baseball cap.
Sensors hidden inside the cap, measuring one to five millimetres and built around Sabi's custom EEG chip, are designed to read neural signals through hair without gel, surgery or direct scalp contact. Sabi says its Brain Foundation Model was trained on more than 100,000 hours of labelled non-invasive recordings and is being developed to translate imagined speech and intent into text or AI commands, offering a faster, private alternative to typing or speaking. An early prototype is planned for CES 2027.
